Exchanging  e-mails and letters with children in other countries has really captured the children’s interest and given them the chance to find out about other cultures and traditions.

At Aintree Davenhill we have made links with schools in Calcutta, India and New Pumwami Primary School in Kenya.

Children in Calcutta have communicated by e-mail with our Year 4 children. They have told them about their festival of light, Diwali and how they celebrate it with their families and friends. They were really interested to hear about our Guy Fawkes celebrations in November.

Our children wrote back and told the children in Calcutta about Guy Fawkes and our Christmas celebrations.

Our year 6 children have also communicated with children from our partner school in Olsztyn Poland by e-mail. We have also exchange PowerPoint presentations of our schools. The children also e-mailed Christmas postcards to their pen pals.

Also, Year 3 children have made links with another school in Poland and plan to exchange letters and e-mails.
